Ryan O'Keefe discharged from hospital, back on campus
Updated: Oct 6

Boston College wide receiver Ryan O'Keefe was carried out on a stretcher following a neck injury in yesterday's 27-24 win over Virginia and was transported to MGH, but reports early this morning show only good signs so far.
"Star BC wide receiver Ryan O’Keefe is back on campus this morning after being discharged from Mass General Hospital, per BC," tweeted Pete Thamel at 10:20 this morning. "He suffered a neck injury during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win over Virginia."
There's seemingly no video of the hit but it seemed to be an awkward hit on a screen pass from UVA defensive back Malcolm Greene in the fourth quarter, and he reportedly underwent tests and observation Saturday night. As he was leaving from the stretcher though he did give a thumbs up. O'Keefe had three catches for 21 yards in the win.
BC's statement last night said, "Boston College wide receiver Ryan O’Keefe was immobilized and transported to Mass General Hospital due to a neck injury suffered in this afternoon’s game against Virginia. Updates will be provided as they become available."
