Boston College 89, Fairfield 70: Quinten Post puts up career-high in season-opening win

Boston College cruised to their first win of the season Monday night on the opening night of college basketball, as the Eagles took down Fairfield 89-70 behind Quinten Post and his career-high in points.

Post's career high of 31 was thanks to him going 11-for-14 from the field, 5-for-6 from beyond the arch, and 4-for-5 from the line while also racking up 11 rebounds and four blocks -- leading the Eagles to the win while being on the floor for 29 minutes.

Fairfield kept it within roughly 10 for the majority of the game, but an 11-1 run halfway through the second half took BC up to a 20-point lead that they would hold for the rest of the game.

Jaeden Zackery had 10 points and four assists while Mason Madsen, Donald Hand Jr., Claudell Harris Jr., and Devin McGlockton all added nine to the score tally. Madsen and Hand both knocked down a trio of 3-pointers while Harris went 0-for-4 from 3 but was 5-for-5 from the line and added a pair of buckets. McGlockton was 4-of-4 from the field and Chas Kelley III also had three assists on the night. Freshman Fred Payne knocked down an additional 3 in his seven-minute debut.

BC takes on The Citadel in their first regular season road matchup this Friday, November 10. They return home next Wednesday, the 15th, against Richmond.
