Boston College 6, RPI 1: Eagles begin weekend with blowout win

BC Eagles Athletics

RPI was no match for Boston College Friday night, with BC beating the Engineers 6-1 to begin the doubleheader weekend.

Cutter Gauthier began the scoring early with a pair of goals in the first period, one being a snipe from the point and the other being a one-timer from the top of the right circle. RPI added one in the second but the Eagles responded from there with four straight goals.

Gabe Perreault scored his first collegiate goal on a breakaway that was created by his blocked shot, and Oskar Jellvik potted a one-timer from the slot before Connor Joyce got on the board. It was then Will Smith who would join Perreault in grabbing his first career goal on a two-touch shot from the point.

BC takes on No. 2 Denver tomorrow night at Conte Forum not long after football takes on Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
