Boston College 5, Michigan State 1: A sweep to continue the homestand

Boston College cruised to another smooth sailing win Friday night in front of a packed Conte Forum, as Jack Malone and Cutter Gauthier both potted a pair of goals and the third-ranked Eagles took down No. 7 Michigan State to complete the two-game sweep and continued the homestand.
Mike Posma got the scoring started with just under seven minutes to play, as he shoved in a second-attempt rebound try that put BC up 1-0. Six and a half minutes into the second, Gauthier tallied his first of the night, as Gabe Perreault walked into the zone and fed a pass to him in the high slot before he potted it home on the power play to give the Eagles a two-goal lead.
Malone then grabbed his first of the night, as on the power play he skated in on a 2-on-1 and wristed it past the MSU netminder glove-side to make it 3-0, before adding his second of the night with Andre Gasseau intercepting a pass in the Michigan State zone and slid a cross-crease pass to Malone who one-timed it home. Gauthier then added his second of the night on an empty-netter.
BC takes on UMass Lowell next weekend Friday at home to end the homestand and Saturday on the road.
